October's topicIndustry Insights - Academic Impact: Translating Experience into Research - it's never too late for a PhD

Featured Speakers:

  • Dr. Marzena Baker (Australian Catholic University-ACU) is a Senior Lecturer and Head of Discipline for HRM, Management, and Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental Management at ACU. She holds a PhD from QUT focused on equity and organisational performance in project-based environments and has over 20 years of executive and academic experience across the construction, property, and higher education sectors. At ACU, she leads curriculum design, teaching and learning strategy, and academic governance across undergraduate and postgraduate programs.Dr Baker teaches across the areas of management, change leadership, stakeholder engagement, and organisational behaviour. Her research explores inclusive leadership, line manager capability, and the implementation of diversity strategies in complex and male-dominated organisations.
  • Agnieszka Chudecka (Partners in Culturally Appropriate Care (PICAC) SA/Flinders University) passionately advocates for culturally inclusive aged care. Since 2011, Agnieszka has been a driving force in PICAC SA team and is the lead contact for the national PICAC Alliance. She brings together strong academic foundations and deep grassroots experience, working side-by-side with community groups to champion the needs of people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. Currently pursuing her PhD at Flinders University’s Caring Futures Institute, Agnieszka’s research focuses on how we can better support CALD individuals living with communication difficulties, including language reversion. Her philosophy is simple yet powerful: quality aged care must be inclusive, person-centred, and culturally attuned. She’s deeply committed to co-design, ensuring that the voices of diverse communities are not only heard but meaningfully shape the future of aged care
